Find The Space

We're Kevin & Maureen

It's Very Nice To Meet You

Country living has always been part of who we are. We are most happy in wide open spaces with forests, fields and animals surrounding us. When we first discovered the ranch, we knew it was something that was meant to be. Driving halfway down the driveway for the first time, we had already made the decision to make the leap to the ranch.

Kevin has had a lifetime of rural living, living on a ranch and raising cattle, pigs and chickens in the past. His background in engineering and carpentry have given him the skill set to fix almost anything. His working career serving the Prince George Fire Department have given him a wealth of knowledge and compassion.

Maureen has previous history of working and living rurally, running a fishing camp and getting a taste for country hospitality. She formerly worked in health care, and caring about people comes naturally. She strives to make every guest arriving on the ranch feel warm and welcome.

We are so passionate about Woodhouse Cottages and Ranch. Every day there is a new adventure to be had. The wide-open vistas, the horses running in the fields, the cattle pausing to get their ears scratched by a guest – the memories that are created here abound.

Each of the unique cottages and the bubble house offer guests privacy and seclusion, with modern amenities and added touches including personalized signs, treats for your pup if you are bringing one, and daily fresh-baked cinnamon buns!

To have the ability to share joy with others brings a certain personal contentment. We feel that in some small way we can touch people’s lives by their experiences here. We are grateful that on a daily basis we get to do what we love and share it with others.

You’ll have tons to do without even leaving the Ranch!

As a working ranch with cows, horses and chickens, guests are treated to a true agri-experience. Getting back to basics and surrounded by nature, visitors are encouraged to walk the property, play around the man-made swimming lake and feed the horses their daily treats of carrots.

We offer tours of the ranch and, depending on the season, can share experiences and knowledge of animal husbandry, ranching, farming and living a rural lifestyle.

In the winter you can experience skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing trails, and outdoor bonfires (firewood is provided free of charge). Snowmobile rentals are $25/hour, $50/half day, and $100 full day. Guests will be offered helmets, lessons, and safety instruction. Guests will be shown the trails to follow and depending on skill, are able to ride in the fields independently.

In the summer months we have a gorgeous man-made pond with loungers and floaties, numerous outdoor games, bicycles, and 300 acres to explore. You can stargaze, enjoy gorgeous sunsets, and sit around the bonfire (firewood is provided free of charge) – there are two central firepits available for guests to use, conveniently located close to all the cottages.

We are also now offering trail rides/riding arena horseback riding for $25/hour, which includes instructions and safety. Guests will begin in our riding arena and progress to riding on the trails as per wrangler’s guidance.

Open seasonally, our filtered pool is 70ft x 100ft and 7ft deep at its deepest. Pool hours are not restricted, but there is quiet time after 10:00pm. All children must be supervised by an adult. Pool towels and plastic cups for poolside are provided for guests.

We are! Pets are welcome in all of our cottages – the only exception is the Bubble House, due to safety constraints. There is a $15 fee/pet visit.

It’s recommended that pets arrive on-leash for safety around the livestock and other guests, but once we know pets are comfortable around the livestock and other guests, they can be off leash.

  • Guests can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before arrival.
  • If a guest cancels within 24 hours of arrival, they will be charged 50% of reservation plus taxes.
  • If a guest does not show, they will be charged full rate of reservation plus taxes.

Food and your personal goods, pet food if applicable. There are kitchens/kitchenettes to cook in the cottages, and all cottages as well as the Bubble House have BBQ’s.

We certainly do!

Woodhouse Cottages and Ranch hosts weddings, family reunions, graduation get-togethers, and bachelorette parties, among others. We provide the venue and accommodation for events. For guests to book an event, dates are chosen and the ranch is reserved for a minimum of two nights. The venue and cottage pricing will be available based on number of guests attending. RV parking is available also. We are currently teaming up with a local event planner and are having our first official event in September of 2022, complete with live music, catered first-class dinner, and shuttle service or overnight stays based upon availability.

We have teamed up with many local businesses to help guests planning an event put all their details together. Wedding planning, catering, florists, photographers, event supply rentals and portable toilet services. We can recommend a variety of options and help create local connections for guests to hold their event.
